ACQUIESCENT

You say I deny you grace, so you deny me truth. Your petty way to maintain order as you do when in the uniform that became you. How flawed have we been in our dictatorship to each other? Allowing ourselves to be veiled by the fears we wear shamelessly. Holding on to faux priorities rather than the emotions that follow us like shadows, attempting to bury them within the sands of memories. I have always told you I do not want to be tamed. There is fear within. Fear that I would be snuffed out. It has been my experience you see, and I let it dictate our moments. It wasn’t about dominance, but the inability to truly feel safe, to simply be. My love, your presence has anchored me deeply. In my waking moments, I seek you. In my dreams, I find you. You have become inescapable like a turning wheel. This is our design, you see. We are made to walk the same path, fingers bound. Your body, my home. Your kisses, my nepenthe. You dwell within me as I hope I do within you. As time would fold into itself, now is the future of our past, and in this reality, to love you is my religion. I would do nothing else until our ribs collapse into the breath the creator has given us.
