ACCEPTANCE

I weep for myself and all that I wanted but couldn't have. Hopes that dried out along the tears on my shirt. I weep for the things I held but slipped through my grip. I weep for my prayers that went unanswered, that I had to build faith anew. I weep for the times I failed myself and those who love me. For the times I betrayed myself and turned my back to myself. I weep for my cat, whom I wanted but had to give up. I weep for the days that went by in my wallowing. I weep for the many times my heart broke and I shuddered alone. I weep for conversations I'll never have. I weep for trust broken and secrets I'll never share. I weep for all my emotional cuts and bleeding. I weep for that time I was fifteen, with my innocence shredded. I weep for all the injustice against me and the moments I dusted the fall from my fabric. I weep for it all, and humanly so.
