REST

My words elude feelings I have but cannot fully reach. At a slope of this mountain, I sit from exhaustion, yet when I look down, there is a steep I seem to have overcome. That would explain the fatigue, but my thoughts are not about this fatigue, rather, they sit away from me, isolated from this climb. I feel like a caged bird, without the bars, seeking freedom from the shackles of circumstances. I am not the victim in this chapter, but a pigeon wishing it was an eagle. While this distortion of image deceives me, it is the mental cage I currently want out of. So I rest on this boulder that weighs so heavily on my chest, because when I am ready, I’ll become the eagle again…
